Tools and materials required

  • ScanNCut
  • Card: Hunkydory Confetti Adorable Scorable, pink, green, purple, blue; pastel blue, green; yellow; white; black
  • Tim Holtz distress oxide ink: Picket Fence, Pistachio, Wild Honey
  • Blending tool
  • Pinflair bookbinding glue
  • 3D foam tape
  • Brother ScanNCut universal pen holder
  • Fine liner: pink, blue
  • Card blank, white, 6” square

Instructions

Use the ScanNCut to cut out stored image shape BA-AO12 measuring 5.75” x 5.75” from pink confetti card. Cut shape BO-AO20 measuring 0.75” x 5.5” from green card. Cut shape AR-AO06 measuring 1.85” x 2.75” from a scrap of card. This will be used for inking.

1

Add shape BA-AO12 back to the digital ScanNCut mat, duplicate it and resize one to 5.5” x 5.5” and the other to 0.25” x 1.6”. Centralise the two shapes horizontally and vertically and cut from blue card. Using the cloud as a stencil, ink the outside edge onto the blue card using the Picket Fence ink and blending tool all the way down the paper. Ink the edges of the grass with Pistachio ink.

2

Cut stored image BA-AO45 measuring 3.28” x 3.28” from yellow card and ink the edges with Wild Honey. Resize the same image to 1” x 0.75” and cut out twice from white card. Resize again to 0.5” x 0.37” and cut out twice from black card. Glue the black card onto the white card, and then add both to the yellow card to create eyes on the chick’s face. Cut stored image AR-IO25 measuring 4.25” x 3.47” from pink confetti card. Cut stored image BA-AO98 measuring 1.41” x 1.15” twice each from purple, green and blue confetti card.

3

Add image BA-AO12 to your mat, duplicate it and resize one to 6” x 1.8” and the other to 0.75” x 1.8”. Centralise the two shapes horizontally, then use the button on the ScanNCut that looks like a small empty rectangle on top of a larger filled-in rectangle. This will place the smaller rectangle to the bottom of the longer one. Weld them together and cut from blue card. This should now look like an upside down T. Put the top part of the T in the gap in the blue square card. This will create the pull-up tag.

4

Glue the chick over the gap in the blue card, making sure not to put any glue on the pull tab. Use foam tape to stick the bottom of the shell over the bottom half of the chick. Add the top half of the shell to the blue pull tab with foam tape, making sure that the chick can be seen when the tab is pulled up, and that it fits neatly into the bottom part of the shell when it is pushed back down. Attach the smaller eggs to the bottom of the card with foam tape, and cover with the grass.

5

Using Font FO-AO01, add the sentiment Have a crackin’ Easter, centralise the words and resize to 0.75” x 1.25”. Using the universal pen holder and pink pen, write the sentiment on white card. Cut out using a rectangle measuring 1” x 1.5” and stick to the bottom-right corner of the card with foam tape. Add the word PULL in the same font, resize to 0.22” X 0.75” and write on white card using the blue pen. Cut out using a rectangle measuring 0.65” X 0.9” and stick it to the top of the pull tab. Using foam tape, add the topper to the pink confetti card, and then stick that to the card blank.
