Flip Slider Card

Do you need a card for that green fingered person in your life? Why not wow them with this flip slider card featuring lots of beautifully drawn herbs? Also known as a waterfall card, the moving front panel flips with just a gentle pull to reveal the decorated squares underneath. It looks complicated but trust me, it’s a lot easier than it looks to create this clever card. - Sarah Jackman-Read

Instructions

Create a 12 x 18cm base card from kraft card then cover the front with pink distressed paper trimmed slightly smaller. Trim another distressed paper 11 x 17cm, stamp as shown then attach on top.

1

Trim four pieces of kraft card 6.5cm square and four pieces of yellow paper 6cm square. Stamp a sentiment and herbs on the yellow papers then layer on the kraft card.

2

Trim kraft card 23 x 10cm then draw a faint pencil line 2cm in from each long side. Draw a 1.5cm line in from one short side then trim away the sides to create a T shape. Starting at the T shape end, score down the long side at 6cm, 7.5cm, 9cm and 11.5cm then fold the score lines.

3

Apply glue to the T shape end up to the first score line then attach one of the stamped squares on top, aligning the top with the first score line. Apply glue between the first and second score line then attach another square on top. Repeat with the other two squares, making sure the sentiment is on the final square.

4

Fold the forth score line backwards so the end of the kraft card hangs below all the squares then round off the corners with a corner punch. Punch a small hole then add a brad. Attach double-sided tape to the side flaps, fold them over the back then attach to the card front. Please don’t add glue to the back of the panel or it won’t flip!

5

Thread thin jute through a scissor charm then tie around the brad. Gently pull the charm to make then decorated squares flip over.
