Floral Aperture Card By Vikki Gorham

“These beautiful cards are so quick to make but make for a striking finish. An ideal card to try if you’re new to die-cutting!” Vikki Gorham

Just remember to use the Inner Die of a Two-Part Die Set, otherwise you will just end up cutting a big hole in your card.

Instructions:

    Floral Aperture Card
  1. Open out your card blank. Place your chosen die on the outer front panel and die cut in your machine. For this we use a two part die and cut using the inner die. Make sure you use a good heavy weight card base, not less than 300gsm, as you will be cutting most of the front of the card away.

  3. Remove all the pieces from your die cut card using your pokey tool. This is one time you need to make sure you remove all the little bits, or they will show.

  5. Using your paper trimmer, cut a piece of patterned paper to mat to the inside of your card, this will depend on your card size. Secure to the inside of your card with double sided tape. Choose a paper that themes with your die. For example, I choose a floral paper, as my die was floral.

  7. Take some co ordinating Washi Tape and place down the right-hand side of your card front.

  8. Using either a stamp, die cut sentiment, peel off’s or word strip, adhere this to the bottom center of your card front.

  9. Top Tip:
Batch make a few of these, ready just to add a sentiment dependent on the occasion. Take your time to make sure you pop out all the bits with your pokey tool, as with this kind of card, any remaining bits will spoil the effect.
