This pretty brooch would make a stylish addition to a coat or bag, and an excellent charity project for Remembrance Day. You can find the rest of the Forever Flower projects in our autumn 2019 magazine, on page 58!
Separate all of your petals and make sure you only have single layer petals. You will need eight petals per flower.
To create the flower, place one or two green stems on your flower making tool – using two stems at a time will give you more manoeuvrability with your petals.
Place four petals onto the tool, alternating each one so that the petals are facing up then down, and so on.
Firmly press a small clear inner cup down over the petals on your tool. Place the next four petals onto it, alternating them as before.
Place the green end cap onto the tool and press down firmly. Remove the flower from the tool.
To create the flower’s base, sew two fabric leaves together. Using gel medium, glue the leaf flourishes to the leaves.
Flatten the petals of your flower and cut the stem off the back. Carefully melt the base slightly, and flatten it while it’s still warm.
Use gel medium to attach the flower on top of the leaves. Colour a flat backed gem using your alcohol marker and secure it in the middle of the flower using gel medium.
Apply gel medium to the back of the flower and place centrally on the brooch back.
