This papercraft project is more than just a card - it's a gift box too! Decorated with ribbons, embellishments, die cuts and more, this Gift Bag Box is a beautiful papercraft project for your next special occasion.

  1. Start with a piece of lilac card measuring 6” square and score around each side at 1”. Where the scoring meets at each corner cut along one of the score lines just too where it meets the other score line. Cut along the centre to cut away a triangle. Cut the end of the triangle that is left (about ¼”)

  1. Put some glue or very strong tape on the outer side of the triangle part that is left. Now attach each of these to the other edge of card to create a box.

  2. Die cut out 4 decorative borders from the Cut, Mat Create die set 2A in another shade of lilac card.

  3. Using the floral script paper, cut just under 1” from the end and then at 4”. Cut the paper in half and score at ½” along the bottom of both.

  4. Glue the ½” scored part to the bottom of the box on opposite sides.

  5. Cut the butterfly border from the paper collection and adhere to the other two sides of the box. Glue one of the decorative borders so that it just touches the butterfly border. Do this with the other side also and add a length of white round flat pearls on string along the part where they meet. Cut the floral panel from the paper collection. Cut the outer border away and adhere to the side of the bag without the floral image.

  6. Glue the last two decorative borders to the tops of each of the sides of the bag.

  7. Cut the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment from the paper collection and adhere just under the decorative border which has the butterfly image at the bottom.

  8. Stamp the Botanical Rose set of flowers and the large butterfly with black ink onto lilac card. Die cut them out with the co-ordinating die.

  9. Stamp the set of leaves using Archival ink onto some pale green card. Use a ball tool and foam mat to add some dimension to the leaves.

  10. Using the 4 smaller flowers add some dimension using your ball tool. With the back of the flowers facing you take your ball tool and move it around in circular motions a few times at the centre of each petal. Turn the flowers over and do the same in the centre of the flowers.

  11. Glue the flower together with the smallest flower in the center.

  12. Add a length of floral pearls on string just under the sentiment and the butterfly on top of the butterfly on the image of the paper. Glue just along the body of the butterfly so that the wings are free.

  13. On the other side of the bag and a length of the floral pearls to the top and bottom of the panel. Glue the flower and the 2 leaves onto the centre flower on image on the panel.

  14. Make a triple lilac organza bow and cut out the Laugh tag from the paper collection. Adhere the bow to the top of the panel with the tag just under it. Add a rhinestone sparkler to the centre of the bow.

  15. Add some stickles glitter to flower, butterfly and around the edges of the bag/box.

  16. Finally add 2 magnets on the inside tops of the sides of the bag, about ½” from the top so that the bag stays closed.
