  1. Cut a 5½x11” piece of white cardstock and fold in half to create your card blank.

  2. Cut a 5¼” square of patterned paper and secure to the card front.

  3. Cut a 4 7/8” square of white cardstock, ink the edges in red and adhere centrally to the card front.

  4. Cut a tiny blue shell border strip from patterned paper and trim into two 7/8x4¾” pieces.

  5. Cut a 4¾x3¾” piece of patterned paper. Machine-stitch using white thread on diagonal lines in both directions to create a stitched diamond pattern. Affix the tail ends of the cotton threads to the back of the patterned paper.

  6. Adhere the shell border strips to the top and bottom of the stitched panel, making sure you have a 4¾”-square piece.

  7. Cut four 9” lengths of twine. Tie two lengths together with three evenly spaced knots to fit across the top of your 4¾”-square piece. Repeat the process for the bottom of your square. Tie a piece of twine in a knot to secure the compass charm and affix a blue gemstone to the center. Adhere the knotted twine and compass, affixing the tail ends of twine to the back of the paper. Attach this section centrally to the card front.

  8. Fussy-cut a lighthouse and the ‘Courage’ verse from patterned paper and secure to the card front using 3D foam pads.

  9. Stamp the birds in light blue ink and clear-emboss. Fussy-cut the images and adhere attach to the card front using 3D foam pads.
