Create something different for someone special.

  • Papercraft and Scrapbooking
  • < 1 hour
  • Intermediate

Tools and Materials Required

  • Paper trimmer
  • Card stock – white and grey/black
  • Patterned paper
  • Scoreboard
  • Men’s suit die set
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Red liner tape

Method

Trim your dark cardstock (I used grey here but you could use any colour you wanted, this piece will be the ‘suit jacket’) trim it to 10.5 x 7.5”, then score at 5” & 10” along the long side and ½” on the short side.

1

Trim away the small square in the corner where the score lines meet, trim the central score line until it meets the next score line then tri away the corners along the bottom, so that when you fold it together it will sit flush.

2

Lay the card out flat and make sure the thin score line is to the left hand side. Then working on the rectangular piece on the right hand side, measure the centre point which should be 2.5”, mark with a small pencil mark, then measure and draw a line 4” down from the centre point you just marked. Then mark 1” from each edge (outside edge to the first score line) then from those marks draw down to the bottom of your 4” line (you should have a triangle) Now cut along the pencil marks to the bottom of the line, rub out any remaining pencil marks. This now becomes the front of your pouch.

3

Burnish all your score lines and fold them up to create a pouch, using red liner tape, tape along the score lines and stick this together.

4

Die cut 2 collars and a pocket from the die set in the same-coloured card as the pouch you just made and die cut a tie and handkerchief from some co-ordinating patterned paper. Stick these into place on the front of the pouch, use 3d foam pads to add dimension to the pocket if you like.

5

Cut a piece of white cardstock to 8 x 4.5”. TO make the collar, measure 1” from the top and draw a line 1.5” in from each end, trim along the line, then fold the pieces in so that the corners meet in the centre, add a small dab of glue to keep them in place. Glue the tie into place under the collar you just created.

6

TO make the pocket for you gift card to sit into, cut a pieces of white card stock at 4.5 x 3” and score at 0.5” along the 2 short edges and 1 of the longer edges. Cut away the 2 squares where the scorelines cross and cut away the corners, using red liner tape attach this piece along the bottom of your shirt. Add a sentiment if you like at this stage. Pop your gift card in place into the pocket you just added on the shirt then pop the shirt into the jacket. There you have it, a shirt and jacket gift voucher pouch.
