Transform a plain canvas book bag in to a vibrant, colourful work of art – in just a few easy steps!
Select your canvas bag and iron out any creases so that you have an even surface to work on.
Using the Screen Sensation fixing tape, tape your chosen screen secure in place. Ensure the screen is taught, you can adjust the tape to get the perfect tension. Position the canvas bag so the image will be central. Insert a piece of card to the inside of the bag to prevent ink coming through to the reverse.
Close the lid and scoop some black Screen Sensation ink on to screen using the sticks provided within the kit. You just need enough to cover the image. Using the applicator tool, draw the ink over the surface of the screen. Keep the tool at a 45°, use both hands and draw towards you in one swift movement.
Scoop any excess ink back in to your pot and close securely. Clean off your screen and tools using cool water.
Let the ink dry, this will take roughly 20mins. Once touch dry, heat set the ink for 2mins using a regular iron.
As before, place a piece of card in the inside of the bag. Begin colouring the image using the bullet tips of your Chameleon pens. Start with a darker colour and finish each section with a lighter colour. This adds a sense of depth to your design.
Continue colouring the image, remember to brush the pens lightly over the surface of your image – try not to over saturate the fabric as this can cause the colour to bleed.
Once you have coloured your design, iron again to heat set the ink.
