Sunflower Song and Square Doily Card

A step-by-step guide to show easy it is to make a beautiful card using Square Doily Cutting Dies and the Sunflower Song Collection from The Paper Boutique.

You Will Need:

  • Pack of 20 8” x 8” White Cards & Envelopes
  • Lynda Chapman’s Black Card 100 Sheets
  • The Paper Boutique Sunflower Song Collection
  • The Paper Boutique On Your Special Day Die Collection
  • Lynda Chapman’s White Card 250gsm 250 A4 sheets
  • Black Pearls
  • Glue
  • Foam Pads
  • Scissors
  • Die-Cutting Machine
  • Paper Trimmer


  1. Select 2 complementing papers and a square topper from the Sunflower Song Collection.

  2. Cut an 18cm square from one of the backing papers and adhere it to the front of the card.

  3. Then, cut a 15.5cm square from the black card and place in the centre of the backing paper.

  4. Using the Square Doily die, cut out the following pieces:
    A. Cut the matt out of the white card
    B. Cut the doily out of the second choice of backing paper
    C. Cut the small square out of the white card

  5. You also need to cut a 10cm square out of Lynda’s black card.

  6. Assemble your focal point in this order:
    A. White matt
    B. Doily
    C. Black square
    D. White square
    E. Topper

  7. Add black pearls to the doily should you wish to.
    Note: Any of the 4 different Square Doily Dies in The Paper Boutique Collection can be used to create this card. Look how the black card makes the beautiful colours in the Sunflower Song Collection really ‘pop’!
